AccentCoach ("we", "our", or "us") provides an AI-powered pronunciation coach mobile application and accompanying website. We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting the personal information and audio data you share with us.

This Privacy Policy details how we collect, process, secure, and disclose your data in compliance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), and global data protection standards.

2. Voice & Audio Data Collection

To provide real-time acoustic scoring, pronunciation diagnostics, and phoneme analysis, our application captures voice recordings via your device microphone when you initiate an exercise:

• Transient Acoustic Processing: Your audio is securely transmitted over TLS 1.3 encryption to our acoustic modeling engine solely for the duration required to evaluate phonemes and formants (<400ms).
• No Public Training Use: We do not sell, rent, or monetize your voice recordings, nor do we feed identifiable user audio into public generative AI models.
• Local Caching: You may delete any locally cached playback clips directly inside the app settings at any time.

3. Account & Usage Information

When you create an account or subscribe to our newsletter, we collect your email address, chosen password hash, practice streak statistics, experience points (XP), and customized practice preferences (e.g. American vs. British accent preference).

4. Data Retention and Security

We implement industry-standard administrative, technical, and physical security measures to safeguard against unauthorized access, destruction, or disclosure. All stored user metrics are encrypted at rest using AES-256.

5. Your Rights Under GDPR & CCPA

You have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, request corrections, export a machine-readable copy of your practice statistics, or request complete account deletion.
